Korean Inspired Makeup Look

Hi everyone! it's been a long time since my last post. Terribly sorry for that! But today I've an interesting post for you guys!
At first, I just want to discuss about how to achieve glowing skin like those korean girls. But, it turns out a full makeup tutorial. Well, basically this is my own adaptation, it may not suitable for everyone. But I'll try my best!

First, here's what you'll need to achieve this look!

We're going to use Booty Call (no. 3 from left) and Tease (no. 5 from the left)
Base:
  1.  Sulwhasoo Perfecting Cushion (this cushion is more on the pricey side, you can buy laneige bb cushion instead of this)
  2. Revlon Colorstay concealer
  3.  Body Shop Loose Face Powder
  4. Too Faced Chocolate Soleil (this part is optional, but foundation can sometimes makes my face look a lil' bit flat, so I need to bring back the dimension of my face with bronzer)
  5. Guerlain Meteorites for finishing powder
Eyes:
  1. Nyx Eyebrow Cake Powder
  2. Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette
  3. Silky Girl Big Eye 2-in-1 Eyeliner
  4. Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Edge Meister
Cheeks:
  1. Nars Deep Throat
  2. Can Make Highlighter
Lips:
  1. Dear Darling Tint no. 2
  2. Dear Darling Tint no. 4
OKAY! Let's start this Makeup Look!

First, start with your clean and moisturize skin, applying the foundation all over your face with the sponge. Yes! you need the sponge, because to be honest the sponge help to get that airbrush effect, and make it easier to blend. Just dab, dab and dab little by little to achieve your glowing skin. If you don't have this kind of foundation, you can use any foundation that you like that have a satin and glowing finish (I really love YSL le teint touch eclat foundation!) After that you can conceal every imperfection in your face, like undereye circle and also ance scars (I'm sorry I forgot to snap this scene!)

Second, I like to use a loose powder to set my concealer and T-zone area, cause that's where I tend to get oily. For this look, you want your skin to be glowing not oily. So use a little bit of powder if needed.

Next, put on your eyebrow and you're ready to start with your eyeshadow. Here I'm using Booty Call from the Naked 2 palette all over the lids and your brow bones.

Then, I put tease on my outer corner and crease. Blend it to soften the edge.

Because this makeup look is very soft and girly, I use a brown eyeliner to line my eyes and smudge it with a q-tip. Don't forget to apply a white eyeliner on your waterline to makes your eyes look bigger and brighter. Finish it up with your favorite mascara.

Next, apply your blush on the apples of your cheeks (smile! and you'll find it)

For the lips, I use Dear Darling Tint no. 4 in the inside part of the lips and put the no. 2 on the outside.

This this the important step of the makeup! Highlighter! Put your favorite highlighter on the bridge of your nose, chin and cheek bones. If you want a more settle look you can use a liquid highlighter instead of powders.

Last Step, is to use Guerlain Meteorites for finishing powder all over your face! :)

AND IT'S DONEEEE!!!!!! I know this tutorial is sooooo longgg, but I really hope you like this!

Here's how I look with the makeup! :)

Review: Fructus Nail Polish

Hi everyone! I'm very excited for today's post, because.... *drum roll, drum roll...*

It's about nailpolish! (YAY!) Not just an ordinary nail polish, it's a water based nail polish :D
Interesting huh?!
I'm very curios about this nail polish, and I finally got it! Thankyou for giving me those beautiful color and giving me a chance to try it :)

So, basically Fructus is the first local "water based" nail polish brand and to be honest I'm very proud of them. Not just because it's a local brand, but the nail polish is a non-toxic and safe for everyone's nails. Well, people like myself who always put nail polish every now and then maybe can relate how stressful to look at that ugly-yellowish-nails (urgh!) and I have to cover it up with nail polish again and again and again, and it start become a habit of mine.

So, here's the review about Fructus! Enjoy :)

Lava Guava (pink) and Groovy Grape (purple)

First you need to roll the nail polish with both of your hands, they say because it contains water it tend to get separate (just like those water based foundations, you need to shake them well too. Got the idea? *winkwink*) They have a nice bottle shape so it's easy to roll them with your hands :)

After done with this step, it's finally time to try it!
I'm in the mood for dark color, so I prefer to use the Groovy Grape instead of Lava Guava, plus I need to cover those yellow-ish nails that I got from last nail polish (eek!)

Details of the brush

One coat of Groovy Grape

The brush itself is quite thin, it's good for those of you who have small nails like I do, and the cap is nice to held which is a good thing :)
I'm quite surprise how the Groovy Grape turns out opaque with one coat, how cool?
Also what I like about it, is the scent! it smells pretty delightful and each of them have different scents.
Personally I love them instead of those alcohol scent from other nail polish.

Two coats done!

After done one coat on my left hand, I do my right hand while waiting my left hand to dry.
I would like to say it dry faster than I thought it will.
Faster than the others, so after I've done my right hand I can immediately put the 2nd coat on my left hand.

I don't want to put top coats since I want to see how well they can last without any top coat, so we'll see how it goes.
I'll update soon after I post this.

To wrap it up, what I like about Fructus are:
- Water based which is safe for your nails
- Non-Toxic
- The fruity scent is delightful
- Opaque
- You don't need to use nail remover to remove it, just use water!
- You can easily at drops of water as a thinner to the bottle.

I like to say that I'm satisfied with Fructus, and I would be happier if they put the number or the name of the nailpolish on the bottle so when I want to buy a new one, I know exactly what they called.

Personally I'm not expecting this nail polish to be long lasting on my nails because it's a very friendly product for your nails :) and I'm totally okay with it cause I tend to get bored with my nails.

Lastly, I want to say that I'm proud this local brand and I do think you should try it!
(if you're a nailpolsih junkie like me, you will find it interesting to have :p)

If you want to buy this nailpolish, go check their Instagram @fructusnails

That's all I have for today's post! See you in my next post :D

Review: Philosophy The Microdelivery Peel

Hi everyone! It's been 2 weeks since I posted, and I'm sorry for that :( I'm very very busy with my Uni's lately, soooo many projects to do and it affected all my healthy life routine such as sleeping, eating, and also my skincare routine.

I realize in this whole 2 weeks, I never use my daily skincare routine anymore (eek! I know, this is baaadd!) I notice right away that my skin condition is not in their best, I have some dry spots around my mouth and an acne is trying to come out. I never suffer this kind of situation before because I relatively have normal to oily skin (in my t-zone). I'm very stress out because the dry spots around my mouth makes me feel uncomfortable and feel so tight when I eat, talk and.....taking picture (he he he :p)

Okay! enough for the rambling!

Basically, I really can't stand it anymore. Then I saw my Philosophy scrub that I rarely use (because I'm just lazy like that! HA HA) I decided to use it... and VOILA! All that nasty things on my face is gone! You guys should know how happy I am with the result :""") My face now is silky-smooth and happy :D No more uncomfortable feeling around it, and this is why I want to share my story with this heaven-send's-product-from-my-beloved-God-who-want-me-to-have-a-nice-skin (jkjk!) but seriously, Thankyou! :p

Here's My review about this product.

Philosophy The Microdelivery Peel

Here's what they claim about itself from their website:

"a two-step, in-home peel that resurfaces and rejuvenates sun-damaged, hyperpigmented and aging skin. what makes this next generation microdelivery peel so revolutionary is that unlike peels of the past that only exfoliated, this peel delivers peptides and vitamin c to the skin as it is being rapidly exfoliated. it is resurfacing and replenishing the skin at the same time, which is a new approach to skin rejuvenation, and best of all, it involves absolutely no downtime."

What they claim to gives:

  • smoothes and resurfaces rough texture
  • helps minimize the look of fine lines
  • helps brighten and even skin tone

  • Where you can find it:

I don't think you can find it at Sephora in Indonesia, but you'll find it at Sephora in Singapore.

    Price:

I'm terribly sorry that I can't give you the exact price, because I bought it almost a year ago in Singapore. I think it was IDR 900k-ish for both of it (it comes with a package). I know, this stuff is relatively expensive, but I think it's a good investment for your skin, and it last a really long time. You can share it with your mom, sister and DAD! it's good for mature skin, so your parent can use it too. (Ha Ha, the beautician demonstrate this product on my dad's and mom's hand too, that's why they let me buy it :p *trick* )

So, here's my thought about them:

The first step is to use their vitamin c/peptide resurfacing crystals or i like to simply call it "the scrub", and it looks like this...

The scrub is not harsh to the skin, but still be gentle when massaging the product to your skin. The scrub has a really nice orange scent's in a very sweet way and, it's very refreshing when you use it. Personally I'm a big fan of the scent.

The second step is to use their lactic/salicylic acid activating gel, and it looks like this...

As you can see on the right, the gel is clear so it's kinda hard for me to capture it (sorry! #notapro) Hopefully you guys still got the idea of it.

The gel acts to "activate" the scrub, there is no scent in this product and it's have a runny gel texture. You'll feel a warm sensation when you use this product on top of the orange scrub.

     How to use it:

First step,  with a clean hand put the "scrub" all over your clean, dry skin. Massage it for about a minute or so avoiding eye area. Be gentle with it, just slowly and use less pressure if you have a really sensitive skin.

Next, put the activating gel on your clean, dry hand. Apply it on top of the "scrub", massage gently and you will instantly feel the warm sensation and it will turn into a white foam. You can massage it until 2-3 minutes, but I'm to lazy for it, and just leave it on my face for the next 2-3 minutes (to make sure all the vitamins from the "scrub" into your skin)

Last step, I like to use a wet-warm-towel to remove all the scrub and it's done!

    Result:

My skin instantly feels a lot smoother, and radiant. It feels so hydrated and bouncy, and all the dry flaky skin is gone :D

    Tips:

Always use a good moisturizer after using this, and avoid direct sunlight for a moment (idk why, but the beautician at Sephora told me this).
Or you can continue to hydrate your skin with a sleeping mask (I'll review in the next post, promise!).
Don't forget to drink a lot! water is your best friend, just try to drink as much as you can.

    That's all about this mighty-scrub-that-i-can't-live-without :p

Hope you'll find it helpful and save your dry skin issues.....

    Love,

    Eyebrow Routine 101

Hi everyone! I'm glad to be back after a while, and I'm sorry for that.... I'm so busy with my college and didn't have much time for writing.
Thank God, I got a chance to capture my brow routine (simply because it's easier than doing a full makeup tutorial, tee-hee :p)

Before you peek into my eyebrow routine... I want to tell you guys, that I have a very different eyebrow shape. I've been trying to make them look similar, but frankly my bone structure are different. Even the experts (read: browhaus, waxhaus, etc) couldn't do anything about it.

So..... this is my eyebrow routine! Enjoy!

    1. First, brush all your brow hair with a clean spooly brush

    2. Second, draw a line at the beginning of your brow, from inner to the tail

    3. Third, draw another line at the top too (as you can see, I'm drawing the shape that I want first)

    4. Next, fill in the brow

    5. See the difference? HAHAHAH (shameless selfie :'D)

    6.  After you're done with both eyebrows, you're supposed to have these rigid eyebrows HAHAH

    7. That's why you need to blend them again, with a spooly brush! note that, blending is the key to achieve natural eyebrows, and spooly brush is your best friend :) Last one, if you want to, you can use an eyebrow gel to comb through your eyebrows and make them stay in shape.

ANDDDD.....TAAA DAAA! Here's the final look of my eyebrows!
Note that, I'm not an expert, this is just how I do my eyebrows everyday :)
So, I don't mind if some of you didn't like how I do my eyebrows or my routine is different from everyone :)

I really hope that this post will answer all the request/question from everyone, and I really hope that you'll find it helpful :)

What I use for this tutorial:
    - Shu Uemura Hard Formula Eyebrow Pencil in Hard 9 #06
    - Spooly Brush
    -  Benefit Gimme Brow in Medium/Deep

Review: Too Faced Liquified Long Wear Lipstick

Hi everyone! I am very excited to tell you guys my thoughts on he newest Too Faced Liquified Long Wear Lipstick :)
As we all know, they recently launch their new shades and I am lucky enough to find it at my new favorite Online Shop! YAY!!
If you want to check them out, please show some love to @thebeautylookbook_ at Instagram.

    @thebeautylookbook_

They're new but the owner is very nice and sweet :)

    So.... Back to the product!

Ah... so beautiful isnt it? I do love the packaging, cause it means that we can squeeze all the product so we're not wasting anything.(YAY!!) The sponge applicator is quite good too, maybe you will need a little bit of practice because if you squeeze too much, it will get messy. Trust me, I've been there (hahaha!) The smell of this lipstick is quite strong for me, i do prefer mac's vanilla scent tho. But it doesn't really matters.

The texture of this liquid lipstick is more like a cream, and it glides sooooo perfectly on my lips (love!love!love!). The color is very opaque, as you can see from my swatches up there. A little bit goes a long way, so be careful :) The finish of this lipstick is quite glossy, not matte and I'm quite surprised that this lipstick is not sticky at all....really appreciate it :D

I don't think I've found any negative issue with this lipstick, So are you going to try this one?
Here's some pic with me wearing it. Hope you enjoy!
